Circular Innovation Grant Scheme

Circular Innovation Grant Scheme

RDM Rotterdam
Ten innovative SMEs will receive together a total of €826,000 in co-funding through the Circular Innovation Grant Scheme. This support will help them further develop their circular innovations and bring them to market more quickly. Together, we are driving the transition to a circular economy.

From high-quality battery recycling to bio-based construction materials, the selected projects showcase the breadth of innovation emerging in Rotterdam and the surrounding region. Alderman Tim Versnel, for example, recently visited Aeroborn at RDM Rotterdam, one of the ten selected companies. Aeroborn is developing a technology that converts CO₂ into high-value materials for applications such as batteries and filtration systems. It is a strong example of how innovation and circularity go hand in hand.

The grant scheme is also attracting an increasing number of startups from outside the city. Together with partners such as InnovationQuarter, we are strengthening the regional innovation ecosystem and fostering new connections between entrepreneurs, knowledge institutions and industry.

The ten selected companies are: Aeroborn, Plastilose, Asbeter, Back to Battery, SPORO, SPEX Technology, Tecmacon Structures, Medeina Engineering, DOPS Recycling Technologies and Hollands Wol Collectief.

These projects demonstrate the tremendous innovative potential present in and around Rotterdam. By giving entrepreneurs the opportunity to further develop their ideas, we are helping to build a circular economy and a resilient, future-proof region.
