New partnership RDM & M4H

New partnership for further development

RDM Rotterdam
On 14 January, the Port Authority, the Municipality, the University of Applied Sciences and Techniek College signed a new cooperation agreement for RDM and M4H. This step, aims at strengthening the collaboration between these parties to further develop these two unique districts into an epicentre for innovation and talent development.

Reconnecting the Port and the City

Rotterdam is a world‑class port city. In the RDM and M4H districts, port and city come together as educational and research institutions, businesses, government bodies and the Port Authority collaborate to strengthen innovation and talent development. Both areas focus on the energy transition, the circular economy and new mobility.

In RDM and M4H, new innovative solutions are being conceived, tested and applied in full view. RDM serves as the incubator, while M4H is evolving into a new mixed living‑and‑working district with space for the creative manufacturing industry and growing enterprises. Both areas are home to abundant technical talent. Their strategic waterfront location and excellent accessibility further enhance their appeal. Urban amenities and a strong port network create an inspiring environment. The districts also offer high‑quality research, educational and meeting facilities, as well as ample room for development and entrepreneurship.

Together, these two districts will soon offer a wealth of technical talent, a strategic waterfront location, excellent accessibility and strong urban amenities. Combined with the powerful port network, they form an inspiring environment for innovation.
